The last two years have seen a shift in compliance, away from a “prove it once a year” approach towards “prove it continuously.” Regulations such as the EU AI Act, together with frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF, reflect a broader move towards continuous governance, risk assessment and control assurance. But that evolution is far from over. This session explores what caused that shift, what effective compliance looks like today, and where GRC is heading in 2027 and beyond.
It will examine how organizations can continuously detect changes in their risk posture, recalculate specific risks as conditions change, and adapt controls and compliance processes accordingly. AI-enabled threats, autonomous systems and the growing use of AI inside organizations make static governance increasingly ineffective.
The next step is a more agile and proactive approach to governance, risk and compliance: detect the change, recalculate the risk, adapt the controls.
Attendees will learn about
• The regulatory shift from periodic compliance to continuous governance under the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF
• How organizations can continuously detect changes in risk posture and recalculate risks as conditions evolve
• Why static controls fail in AI‑enabled and autonomous environments
• Practical methods for adapting controls, workflows, and assurance processes in real time
