Honda Lock implemented Netwrix Endpoint Protector to better manage insider threats, especially by controlling portable storage devices, adding additional security in regards too data transfers.

  • Administering Devices and Internal Network Activity: Honda Lock Mexico implemented Device Control and Content Aware Protection from Netwrix Endpoint Protector to manage devices and monitor activity on their internal network. They previously faced issues with files being deleted or modified without visibility into which user was responsible, and Netwrix Endpoint Protector provided the solution to address these incidents.
  • Enhanced Monitoring with File Tracing Functionality: Using Device Control with File Tracing functionality, Honda Lock is now able to monitor activity in Network Shares. This feature provides detailed information about which user copied data and through which device. It also allows monitoring of data traffic between endpoints, removable devices, and Network Shares, including actions such as renaming, deletion, access, or modification of files.
  • Granular Access Rights for USB and Peripheral Ports: Device Control allows Honda Lock to define granular access rights for USB and peripheral ports, ensuring security while maintaining productivity. This level of granularity enables precise control over which devices can be used and what actions are allowed.
  • Blocking Data Transfers via Bluetooth and USB Devices: Honda Lock also uses Netwrix Endpoint Protector to control Bluetooth devices and block data transfers to mobile devices connecting through Bluetooth, as well as USB and other external devices. This ensures that unauthorized data transfers are prevented, adding an additional layer of security.
